WEEKLY GOLD TUFF STUFF

Happy FriYAY Team!

Kia Ora!! Well, what a whirlwind the last 7 days have been! From the excitement of overseas travel and getting through NZ customs without major bag searches of trail shoes and gels, to the nerves and anticipation of standing, finally, on the start line of Tarawera 50k Ultra. Race day comes and goes so quickly, etching in my mind one of the most incredible days I’ve experienced, the scenery, the forests, the trails, the checkpoints, the volunteers, the finish line, and of course, the buckled legs for days afterwards!

However, thanks to Mother Nature, Cyclone Gabrielle had been brewing and threw so much of the tail end of the trip into pandemonium and uncertainty. Flights cancelled and questions about the rescheduled flight, no accommodation available, where to eat, when will I make it home to my family? Everything in Auckland had been shut down, it is an experience so similar to Covid lockdowns. So I was stuck in a city being devastated by a cyclone.

During this time of uncertainty, all I want to do is be home with all the familiarity of life. The family, the pets, my home, a home cooked meal, my friends, having a good laugh with my Squad family, driving with the windows down in my car, the feeling of safety. We tend to take all of the simple things in life for granted, and whilst sometimes our lives feel dull & very routine, we are safe and happy within our worlds.

These last few days of being stranded in Auckland has allowed me plenty of time to be thankful and grateful for all the routines, familiarity and simple things in my life! I hope you can all take the time today to appreciate all that you have here in the safety of your homes, your lives and all that important to you.

Let's do This,

Alli

The Racing Buzz

The dust is settling in Tarawera Ultra last Saturday, and I’m sure there will be plenty of interest in this event in 2024. I will keep everyone posted on dates and potential travel packages with Trail Trips (optional to participate in the trip!)

This Saturday we see our new Ironman on the block , Jezza, having a hit out over the Tweed Enduro course! Race smart, stay positive and have a strong all round race! We look forward to hearing all about it!

Entries also opened for GCM on Wednesday, make sure you use the Team Name Multisport Gold and Team Pin MSGold123 to be part of our Team over the race weekend! It is going to be interesting to see who is tackling various distances this year!

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Vol 2 # 2

Saturday 25th February 2023

We have travelled all over the countryside with our parkrun on Tour adventures, and shared so much fun together, its now time to revisit Gainsborough Greens!
Most of us have run this course so know it is flat, fast & a great course to target a pb! And, within the local area meaning the IM & 70.3 can get their extra run kms in!
In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours on course will be another great parkrun on Tour to remember!
There is a number of choices we have locally for post run breakfast & coffee, so lets do this Team!

2022-2023 Squad Champions Series

MultisportGOLD is all about community and encouraging members to push (safely) individual limits and become stronger athletes.

So it doesn't matter if your a triathlete, or a runner, this series is inclusive for us all! With the Triathlon season commencing as of 1st July 2022, start logging your race results & parkruns now.

Points can be earnt in ALL triathlon AND run distances, so enter your favourite races and be on the start line at parkrun each week!

It is super easy to log your points. Just head to the Website, click on the Teams Drop Down box and find Club Champs. Simply fill in the tabs and you are on your way!
