Happy FriYAY Team!

With just over 4 weeks to go till Port Ironman & 70.3 our team are in their biggest training block, a key phase that will define their race experience.

It is also around now that the training bubble our team is in, seems like triathlon is all encompassing to their daily life, living, breathing, fueling & sleeping around sessions, allowing other very important elements in their lives little thought or attention. One of the elements, is family & our loved ones.  It is common place for family members to feel neglected & isolated by rare sightings of their beloved athlete around the house, lack of laughter & communications and a disruption to the normal routine and bonds within the family.

During the near 25 year triathlon journey I’ve had with my family, the phrase “Triorphan” was coined. Triorphan is short for “triathlete orphan”. It is a tongue in cheek word describing the phases in my life for when Justin and the kids had to deal with my peak training demands, whether it be 24/7 grumpy moods due to being tired and hungry, lack of sleep, injury management, or stresses of equipment issues to name a few.

So for the Triorphan(s) in your life right now. Please remind them of how valuable they are to you, that their support right now is invaluable to achieving your goal and that your efforts will make them proud in times to come. The experience of completing either a full or half Ironman will be a memorable point in your lives for many, many years to come, so embrace it togehter.

Let's do This,

Alli

The Racing Buzz

With perfect weather, the Tour de Brisbane set off with the Recreational Waves just before 7.00am. The MSGold Crew of Bangers, Pete, Craig, Mashy & Coach Alli were out for a few hours of peddling 110km around Brisbane and OMG.....the new course was amazing! City Streets closed, motorways free of cars. the burning of legs up Coot-Tha and riding the Legacy Tunnel were certainly highlights of this years event! Congratulations to our Team, we all achieved some awesome results.

And congrats to Liz who competed in the Duathlon. This was a super tough course, and given Liz hasn't ridden for a few months, this is a credit to her! Well done Liz!

Luke Harrop Tri is always a very special event on the Gold Coast Triathlon calendar, and this year was perfect weather for our girls who were out there racing! Well done to Emma who made it onto the podium again, and to Sally who had a really positive race. Go the Girls.

For anyone looking to enter the GC30 Run Festival, Multisport Gold has now been set up in the list of Clubs.

The Port Crew will have their long runs before being back on the start line at 7.00am, details to follow.
We will finish with a swim in the Lake, saying Hello to Mr Fishy 🙂 then a stroll over the bridge for coffee & cake!
