Happy FriYAY Team!

As life gets back to normal & routines start to take shape again, this week has seen the return of the Elite Junior Squad I swim with. The kids have all had a full month out of the water after a huge swim season which all came to an end at the beginning of April.

When we returned to squad this week, to see their smiles, hear their laughter and feel part of this group again, it really made me appreciate not only how much these kids love their chosen sport, but how necessary it is to have a break from training and come back refreshed.

Some of the elite kids swim anywhere from 6-8 squads per week, 6 days a week, and is actually a very similar to the load we have all been under over recent months. We train so hard, flog our bodies week after week and expect to be on point for many months of the year! This doesn't include life stresses which comes with being an adult LOL

Over the coming weeks it is so important to really embrace some easier weeks at training and know there is a time and place for fun and enjoyment to come back into your training, and to be a big part of kicking off the off season!

Just like the kids at squad, we need to enjoy the process, laugh, and love what you are doing right now. It is OK to recover, rejuvenate, refresh, as the tri season is a long one! The time will come when we need to step it up a notch, but for now, let your mind and body thrive on keeping it simple and pleasurable!

Let's do This,

Alli

The Racing Buzz

With the weekend of racing just gone with  some outstanding results by our Team......a congratulations to Caitlin & Trinny for their Female teams win at the Moreton Bay Long Course Tri. This is Caitlin's 1st race back after some time off racing and then a cycling injury where she was hit side on by a car. Her swim/bike combo was really strong, enabling the master runner Trin to power home, more than an hour ahead of the 2nd placed female team....Way to go Girls!

Michelle had an epic day in Katoomba over the UTA course plenty of smiles in her race photos! Kudos Michelle, that is one insanely hard race done!

Mary was a last minute entry into the Byron Bay Tri, coming off Port Mac had a stella race and proudly stood on the podium in 3rd place in her category! Really great racing Mary, you should be so proud!

This weekend....yes more racing incoming LOL we have the GC30 Run Festival at The Spit. This is such a popular local event run over various distances and terrain and always producing some cracking runs! A shoutout to Neill as he represents on the 15km start line, and Kahori & Eiji as they make their way to the 30km run in prep for the GCM Double in 6 weeks time! Neill, Kahori & Eiji, have really solid races & soak up the amazing atmosphere!

Entries are now OPEN for Port Mac 2024....so who is in and for what distances? Had FOMO this year.....then don't miss out being part of the action next year!

Entries also opened for GCM on Wednesday, make sure you use the Team Name Multisport Gold and Team Pin MSGold123 to be part of our Team over the race weekend! It is going to be interesting to see who is tackling various distances this year!

2022-2023 Squad Champions Series

MultisportGOLD is all about community and encouraging members to push (safely) individual limits and become stronger athletes.

This year we’re modifying the rules around the Club Championship to more fully acknowledge the commitment and effort required by all MultisportGOLD athletes in getting to the start line and completing any one of the event categories below. So it doesn't matter if your a triathlete, or a runner, this series is inclusive for us all!

Points can be earned in ALL triathlon AND run distances, so enter your favourite races and be on the start line at parkrun each week!

It is super easy to log your points. Just head to the website here. Simply fill in the tabs and you're on your way!
