Happy FriYAY Team!

I have recently finished listening to a 7 episode podcast series where Australia’s top women marathon runners were interviewed. Benita, Ellsy Wellings, Sinead, Jess Stenson, Lisa Weightman, so really, our marathon royalty! These women are such huge inspirations to me, not only because of the marathon successes, but their journeys, return from injury and vision for their futures, both as athletes and people!

These superstars of sport are incredible to look up to, but I have also found there is amazing role models and those who inspire me, right here within our MSG Team.

The admiration and respect I have for Kahori and Eiji, OMG, they are both absolute go-getters and nothing will stand in  their way of conquering the challenges they set for themselves. They do the hard yards, they always have such a positive outlook, and to them, age is just a number. Their smiles and passion for fitness is something I honestly hope I can have over the coming years in sport.

Then I also have the hugest respect for our IM Guru, Maty T, who came off a stress fracture at the beginning of the year, prepped perfectly into Port Mac IM and is now backing up for Cairns IM on Sunday! While the majority of us coming off Port have enjoyed some well deserved down time, Maty has been back out there on the bike carving out the kms to Numinbah & TT efforts around Monteray Keys, clocking up the run volume and is now looking forward to burning his sponge. His motivation, determination and belief in himself has never waiver and this to so many of us, just proves that what the mind believes, the body will achieve.

Yes, we all have our sporting idols what light up our eyes with admiration, but we also have superstars amongst us who continue to show us what Greatness, Courage and Belief is all about. .

Let's do This,

Alli

Of course, we have 2 of our toughest competitors on the start line of this event, so we wish Kahori & Eiji super strong legs for the 10km event! We cant wait to see the photos & hear about your adventures!

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Vol 2 # 6

SATURDAY 19th August

With GCM & SCM done & dusted, lets go exploring with no pressure for runs pre or post parkrun.....just running for fun today.....and what a better location to do this at than Sirromet parkrun. Oh yeah I hear you say!!! This run is only 30 mins up the highway and one none of us have run before! It is a hilly out & back course with the plenty of wildlife, scenery & wallabies along the way. This course is a mix of gravel, bitumen and path so it should be one to remember! What's a parkrun....and a visit to Sirromet....without breakfast and coffee afterwards at the Cellar Door café!! . This is one On Tour not to miss!
