Happy FriYAY Team!

Lets rewind the clock shall we. Lets take some time to reminisce on the last 12 years. I cant believe how quickly time flies, and it was this time, 12 years ago, Multisport Gold was officially registered as a business and began trading.

Our 1st training session was at the CAC Pool which had just opened. I had 1 swimmer on this 1st day. We had 3 lanes for the 1st few years. There was another 2 coaches there with their own squads. It certainly was a very different atmosphere way back then! I don't think the 1st winter we had pool covers!

For 10 years, we ran around the CAC Oval, starting off with 4 athletes back in the early days. Back in the beginning we didn't realise the track was only 320m and wondered why we were running phenomenal times LOL!!!

We have every form of training session all over the coast. We have been competing in race locally, state wide, nationally and internationally. From running, swimming, triathlon, duathlon, aquathon, cycling, trail running and adventure racing.

We have had athletes come & go over the years, we have so many long term & loyal members, and those wonderful social members who just love to be part of a squad. Our families are such a huge part of who we are and how we continue to grow. I look back on some of our early photo, and there is so many stories I have, I should write a book one day! I am not very good with names, but it amazing how many names of people I can remember looking through the Facebook photo albums and the associated stories!

Gosh, we have had camps, we have day trips, we have social gatherings, girls days, boys days, trivia nights, trained rain, hail & shine, had Christmas Parties for the last 11 years at various venues & activities. I could seriously go on & on about our 12 years history because there is honestly some wonderful memories.

Being a coach is a very selfless job. It is 24/7 putting others before you day in, day out, through the weeks and months of the year. There is so many incredible highs I have experienced over the years, but there is also so many incredible lows which I go through alone. After 12 years I still love what I do. Yes, even those freezing cold, early mornings, the late nights, the messages at random times, the questions where I roll my eyes. But to be honest, I wouldn't want it any other way!

To have watched some of our hardest working athletes qualify for World Championships events, to have witnessed so many cross finish lines they never thought possible, and to see someone set a new pb at parkrun. All of these are memories etched into my mind. To have made an impact on peoples lives, to see their pride and share this with their loved ones, to be part of their journey in life & fitness will never grow old with me.

It all started when a friend of mine suggested I start a triathlon squad up here. I laughed at 1st and thought there is no way I could possibly pull that off. Now 12 years later, I am so blessed with my journey in life, and people within it.

Thankyou to all of amazing athletes, families and our wonderful sponsors, for making Multisport Gold such a huge part of YOUR lives too.

Let's Make it Happen,

Alli
