Happy FriYAY Team!

Jenny Alcorn. World Champion. National Champion. State Champion. Time and time again. Head coach of Surfers Paradise Tri Club for over 30 years. She is part of Australian triathlon sporting history. Inspiration. Legend. And above all, the most vivacious, energetic, caring and beautiful person. There isn't many like Jenny.

Despite all her successes and titles, Jenny, at the age of 64, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM) the most aggressive form of brain tumor. The survival rates are extremely low.

I was so deeply saddened when I was told this a few weeks ago. So sad for Jenny and her partner Margo for all they are about to endure in her treatment. I was so sad for her athletes, for her friends, families, her fellow competitors.

However, social media can work in such positive ways, and seeing Jenny still getting on with her life, posting of her lifetime highlights, of her laughter and smiles, spending time with her friends, has shown to me, and I daresay so many of her followers, that a Never Say Die attitude can make the toughest days optimistic.

Why am I writing about something like this in the Tuff Stuff which is usually so positive? To me, Jenny has shown me so many things in my triathlon journey, but the greatest thing she has shown,  is how precious life truly is.

Be brave, be bold, be courageous, be spontaneous. Be crazy. Laugh. Love. Have absolutely no regrets in life.....make the most of the NOW. Live life to the absolute max.

Let's Make it Happen,

Alli
