Happy FriYAY Team!

I was listening to a podcast during the week with Evonne Goolagong Cawley, one of the All Time Greats in Australian Tennis, winning 14 Grand Slam Titles in her stella career.

Her mum used to say to her when she left to play tournaments as a junior "Bye, Have a Lovely Day"

Upon her return, her mum would say to her "So, did you have a lovely day?" Her mum never asked if she won.

What stuck with Evonne throughout her career was that it didn't matter if she won or lost. What mattered most was that she enjoyed her game.

And that is exactly the criteria for our Multisport Gold annual award winners. Sure, none of us will ever be Olympians or professional athetles of the highest level, this hobby that we love participating in should be all about enjoyment and enriching our lives. There should be no pressure, no stress, just achieving our own personal goals.

Our award winners this year have all displayed such characteristics. They participated in their events to the best of the abilities, their prep was impeccable and their motivation remained high even on the hardest days. They were, and continue to be, incredible role models for us all.

There is a special mention to our new life member Kahori who we all love, adore and totally respect.

As we close the chapter which is 2023, keep your love and enjoyment in sport paramount and set those goals high enough for you to thrive in the journey to get there.

Let's Make it Happen,

Alli
