Happy FriYAY Team!

With the QAS Targeting young athletes and looking at a 10 year development plan leading into the 2032 Olympic Games right here in Brisbane, now is the time their Management & High Performance Coaching Team are handpicking junior athletes to train, develop, educate and support. There is about 100 juniors selected over a multitude of sports who have progressed through to the Phase 2 of the You32 program.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the 1st of the Online Development Workshops on Tuesday night which I was very excited to attend. Much of the discussions were focused around these athletes and the plans for their next 12 months as they start into the Phase 2 of this selection process. Some very exciting times ahead for these kids/young adults!

There was so really interesting topics discussed and a few key take aways which can be applied to any athlete, from any sport, age, distance, ability or end goal.

As we start to turn our attention to end of season races A races, Port Mac IM & 70.3, as well as GCM, SC 70.3 and further forward to December, there is never a time to early to start YOUR Performance Planning.

How can YOU improve your performance? How can YOU bridge the gap from where you are now to where you want to be? What are YOUR short term goals towards this longer term goal? What do YOU need to work on & why is this important in the outcome? Who can assist YOU? What milestones can YOU establish and when can you achieve these milestones by?

By breaking down your long term goals into bite size chunks makes the process achievable, motivating and help you to define your development priorities. There is never a goal too big, we just need to be confident in taking the leap. Start planning for YOU now and lets see how high you can jump between now & the future.
