Happy FriYAY Team!

We survived such a hot & humid summer and now we are really enjoying this cooler weather.....yippee...winter is on the way!

Whilst summer can be very uncomfortable to train through, one of the benefits of these months is the sun is up when we wake, and getting out of bed, whilst some days is a struggle, is actually not so bad.

Wind the months forward to cold, dark mornings, where you know it is warmer & cozier in bed, where the option to say at home is so tempting. Yes, trust me, we ALL feel that way when the alarm goes off at Stupid o'clock in winter and you have to layer up to get out there.

But, as hard as it is to get up and out there, winter is the best time of the year to be putting in the hours at training. The hours of aerobic work, strength work, building those foundations and setting the ground work for the upcoming season.

For those who take the winter months off, start so far back it is almost impossible to regain lost ground. Missing months of training because you like your warm bed, will also see the body's muscles, bones, tendons loose their strength and will generally end with an injury within about 6 weeks of a return to training.....because these athletes remember where they were at 4 months ago and want to be right back there.

So yes, I get it, I understand how miserable and cold winter can be. But there is so many benefits which can be gained from these off season months.....gains that are going to see you catapulted into the new race season strong, fit, motivated and hungry to get onto a start line.

Go rug up & embrace the Winter months Team! And of course, how good is hot coffee on long Sunday rides....yeap.....not bad at all!!! So what are you waiting for?
