Happy FriYAY Team!

How can it already be that tomorrow is the 1st June....where is this year going?

To some its OMG, but to sports fans, its YES, the Olympics aren't far away......only 56 days YIPPEE.

To Olympic athletes, this is crunch time. While many of the teams have already been selected, there are still some which are about to throw it all out there. Our swim team, who have just returned from a Staging Camp in Cairns, head to Chandler for Trials on 10-15th June. To them, its 4 years of incredibly hard work, 100km+ weeks following that black line.....and their future can come down 1/100th of a second.

Then in more recent news, the selection of the Women's marathon team, which is yet to be officially announced, looks like is going to be controversial. There is 3 slots for the women, with the qualifying standard set at 2:26. There iss 6 ladies who went under that time, and whilst the 1st 2 slots are pretty much a given, it was always going to be that 3rd slot which is going to be a hard decision for the selection panel. I know who I personally would like to see be awarded that 3rd slot, lets see what happens over the next few days! At the end of the day, its about having the athletes who can perform under pressure.

Sport, regardless of whether we are age groupers, or elite athletes looking for the chance to represent your country, is all about the journey, the process, the growth, of who we are and who we become.
