Happy FriYAY Team!

The Australian Swimming Olympic Trials are here, they are on....and WOW....they certainly have us talking! I love when the group chat lights up with comments and questions about events, laughs at interviews and the tears which well up watching the Para swimmers.

As many of us know, the new world record for the 200m free was set on Wednesday night, witnessing the GOAT Arianna bring it home in 1:52:53.....then watching some of the guys at squad on Thursday morning see how far they could swim in that time....really did make us all realise how incredible these swimmers are.....and remember we are in a faster  25m pool too!

There is also the heart breaking side of swimming where athletes miss out on their Olympic dreams by .001 of a second....a fingernail, a delay in reaction time off the blocks, the tiniest of margins can see 4 years of hopes and dreams dashed.

But that is sport right.

When we look at those racing in Cairns this weekend, sure, we don't rely on fractions of a second for results, but we also have to deal with the elements, other competitors, equipment, there is also the mental roller coaster which goes on over several hours. These all have to be overcome like any other race, with results to celebrate, or results to head back to the drawing board. But that's sport right.

One thing I have learnt over time, is that regardless if we are out to set a world record, to do a PB or to just cross the finish line.....we are out there putting in our best effort from start to the finish. We will never know our limits until we push ourselves towards them.
