Happy FriYAY Team!

What an incredible 2 weeks of sports viewing we have have! The Olympic Games, yet again, has brought the World together for sport, peace and unity. The caliber of athletes across so many sports is next level incredible, and it is going to be exciting watching some of these young stars develop over the next 4 years into LA.

I ask you......What was the highlight event for you over the Olympics? There is probably a few, but what was that 1 race that left a mark.

As you all know, I do love my swimming, so yes, my highlight event does come from the pool.

The women's 800 Freestyle was the standout event and performance for me. For a number of reasons.

Yes, watching Katie Ledecky as she swam into the history books with her 4th straight Gold Medal in this event. 12 years in the making.. Extraordinary feat.

But to me, the swim by Aussie Ariarne Titmus was even more outstanding. She went into the event for the 1st time at the Olympics. She was up against the GOAT and she knew it was all or nothing. After a huge program for Arnie, she knew she had to throw her body on the line...or go bust!!! With 600m to go in this event, she was right there, right with Katie after going out so hard, totally unlike her style of racing. She knew she had nothing to loose right. Then the American Paige Madden started to hunt her down. Closer and close she got to Arnie with each 50. But with 50 to go, Arnie found another gear and fought to the very end. Only a body length behind Katie.

Gutsy, courageous, brutal and brilliant. Absolutely in awe of the girls in this event, but to watch our Arnie be a true underdog honestly gave me goosebumps. What an absolute Australian Legend. Aussie Aussie Aussie.
