Happy FriYAY Team!
As we close the chapter which was 2024, most of us now set ourselves New Years Resolutions. Each year, I see on the socials, athletes spreading the word about their dedication to sticking to the NY Resolutions and how the coming year was going to be bigger, better, more successful than the year just gone. I actually wonder how many of these self-proclaiming incredible NYs Resolutions actually last through the full 12 months!
One thing I don't do anymore is set myself NYs Resolutions. What I do however, is hit the Reset Button.
What happened in 2024, stays in 2024. Those highs and those lows are in the past, they are history, and yes are great for motivation for 2025, but January 1 for me is all about having a clean slate.
This clean slate will help me to see where I am right now, my strengths, weaknesses, areas to improve upon and opportunities I have for growth.
I find that by NOT comparing myself to my past performances, i don't feel like I am stuck chasing the past rather than focusing on what I want to accomplish this year. A new set of benchmarks for success.
I also find that as I get older, my goals definitely change from hitting certain paces and times, to simply staying consistent in training.
This year I will be focusing on health, fitness, growth, trusting my training and celebrating the small wins I have along the way.
YOU are stronger than YOU think,
