Happy FriYAY Team!

With a big weekend of racing and training on the cards for our Crew, I am going to take this opportunity to flag the weather forecast — it’s looking hot & humid, and the combination of heat + training load can creep up on us quickly. Whether you’re racing, long riding, running, or doing bricks, planning for hydration and cooling is absolutely essential this weekend.

Start early with fluids and electrolytes, and keep sipping consistently rather than trying to “catch up” mid-session. Cooling strategies make a huge difference too: ice towels, cold bottles, shaded rest stops, lighter kit, and slightly earlier start times can all help. Heat stress tends to escalate once core temperature drifts up, so small adjustments on the front end prevent bigger issues later.

And finally, listen to the body. Backing off intensity, shortening a session, or swapping for an indoor alternative is not soft — it’s being smart, and it keeps training momentum rolling instead of ending up cooked for days. We want everyone pushing, learning, and enjoying their racing and training, but most importantly we all want to be safe.

Be heat-savvy this weekend and go get after it! 👊

Live Boldly,

Alli
