Happy FriYAY Team!

There comes a point in every challenge where the excitement wears off and doubt creeps in. It's the moment where you question your decisions, wonder why you signed up in the first place, and start looking for the easiest way out. Whether it's 35km into a marathon, the final few kms of a 1/2 marathon, that dreaded 4th km at parkrun, or standing on a train platform in a country where you don't speak or understand the language—we've all been there with doubts racing through our minds!

Last weekend, so many of our Multisport Gold family experienced exactly that at the Gold Coast Marathon. Across every distance, I can guarantee there wasn't a single athlete who didn't spend some time in the hurt locker or question their life choices. But here's the difference: YOU ALL backed yourselves. YOU trusted the months of training, embraced the discomfort, and kept putting one foot in front of the other. Every one of you crossed the finish line with something to be proud of—not just because of the time on the clock, but because YOU had the courage to keep going when it got hard.

Our supporters also had long days, standing for hours with their motivating unwavering, the voices going hoarse and their smiles beaming from the early hours!

As I write this from France, I'm having my own reminders that growth rarely comes from staying comfortable. Every day has been an adventure—coaching & working with the French is nothing short of testing! Then jumping on and off trains, dragging a ridiculously heavy pack and an even more awkward bike box through busy stations, navigating unfamiliar towns, trying to communicate in another language, and remembering that the traffic comes from the "wrong" direction.....!!!! There have certainly been moments where I've wondered whether this was a sensible idea, but those moments are exactly why we choose these adventures.

The best things in life rarely happen inside our comfort zones. They happen when we back ourselves, trust our decisions, and have the courage to see them through. Whether your challenge is a marathon, a triathlon, travelling across the world, or simply taking the first step towards a goal that scares you, remember this: you are capable of far more than your mind will sometimes let you believe. Have faith in the work you've done, embrace the uncomfortable moments, and keep moving forward. They are often the moments you'll look back on with the greatest sense of pride.

Live Boldly,

Coach Alli

Now it's your time to shine, Neill! Run with courage, trust your training, and enjoy every step of the journey. Your MSGold family will be cheering you on every kilometer of the way.
