Happy FriYAY Team!
One thing I've been reminded of this last week, is just how quickly time flies!
We spend months looking ahead to a something significant in our lives. We enter a race that's six months away, build our training week after week, and before we know it, it's six weeks... six days... six hours until the start line. Then, almost in the blink of an eye, we're talking about it in the past tense. Gold Coast Marathon is done. Cairns Marathon is done. The finish line we've been chasing becomes a memory, and we're already searching for the next challenge.
It isn't just racing. It's life. The kilometres we run before sunrise, the laps in the pool, the long rides with friends, the exams we've been studying for, the presentations at work, the small wins and setbacks that quietly shape who we become. Its birthdays that roll around so quickly, before we know it, Christmas decorations will be in the shops! We often focus so much on the destination that we forget to appreciate the moments that are getting us there.
As I write this from France, I've realised my 2026 adventure is almost over. I've been away for nearly seven and a half weeks, and next week I'll be home. There were days coaching in Reims where it felt where time felt like it stood still. Standing on pool deck every morning, writing programs for the upcoming days with the French & Aussie teams, to sitting in a tiny café after an epic climb & sharing conversations with strangers at the top of a Col. Yet somehow, looking back, it feels like I only arrived yesterday. Time has flown, but the experiences, lessons, friendships and memories will stay with me forever.
So whatever you're working towards right now, don't wish the days away. Enjoy the early mornings, the training sessions, the conversations, the challenges and even the setbacks. Celebrate the small milestones because they're the ones that quietly build something extraordinary.
The finish line is only a moment. The journey is where life happens. Make sure you embrace & enjoy every step of it.
Live Boldly,
Coach Alli |
