Happy FriYAY Team!

As the world starts to come out of hibernation from Covid & races start to fill up weekends on our calendars again, it is so exciting to hear & watch so many of our Crew talk & plan about their events & their vision.

For some athletes, they are looking for pbs in their upcoming races, some are slightly scared of their goals, whilst others are creating their own little team to support them.

I had a really positive email the other day from one of our Crew who has some lofty goals for the 2022 GCM. And with this goal, comes self-belief, motivation and yes, some feelings of WTF, but it is these kinds of visions that makes us all aim just that little bit higher each time we look at entering a race.

So as races for 2022 start to appear, why to get out of the comfort zone, test yourself, test your training buddy & get out there to really #findit and #ownit.

There is no greater feeling of pride than crossing that finish line knowing you've 100%, absolutely, positively, giving it your best.

Over & out for today,

Alli

Multisport Gold Club Champions Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS.

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Multisport Gold Website to see the current Leader Board. It is looking like 2 clear leaders already....

The Racing Buzz

Whist there wasn't a lot of racing on last weekend, the racing that was on, certainly was of exceptional standards!

Sharyn made it to Hamilton Island for the race weekend. This truly is such an awesome weekend of entertainment, fitness & community. The Sprint distance triathlon, was scheduled for Saturday, so Friday afternoon was an open water swim followed by bike racking in the afternoon. Saturday morning, torrential rain unfortunately meant the bike leg was cancelled due to a challenging course & safety issues. The event then became a run // swim // where Sharyn had an outstanding race! Of course, the sun was out on Sunday morning, and the Open Water swim was all systems go! Once again, Sharyn has put in the hard work in training & the results showed with her finishing 5th in her very strong age category. Well done Sharyn, not all races go to plan, so be really adaptable & positive, a huge congratulations to you.

Sunday we had Aarti participating in the MS-Swim-A-Thon at Miami Pool. When I first met Aarti a number of years ago, she struggled to swim 25m. To her absolute credit, she has persisted & swam as part of a Team for the relay. In a PB time, Aarti swam with confidence 2500m! A huge congratulations to you Aarti, I know how much this swim meant to you.

Bray race in the Round 4 QRTS Elite Men's racing at Ipswich. This has a 20km ITT followed that afternoon by a 90min Kermesse (which means it is longer than a crit race) Bray was one of the youngest to race and he certainly did put it all out there with outstanding performances in both events. A huge congratulations Bray, we are all so proud of you & excited to see where you are heading with cycling in the future.

This weekend is chock-a-block with races!! Sunday we have Robina Tri where Multisport Gold is well represented over all distances. To those racing, the tent will be up so friends & family all welcome to be part of the Team. I am really looking forward to seeing plenty of pics up on Face Book! Go hard or go home!

Sunday is also Round 4 of the SEQ Trail Run Series out at Bayview. The off road crew will be representing Multisport Gold here & it looks like another race of adventures & fun in our prep for Tarawera!

Harvey Bay 100 is also on this Sunday, with our Brisbane star Kate hitting the start line. Whilst many of the crew don't know Kate, she is a weapon in S-B-R & has been training the house down over recent weeks in prep for this A Race. Kate, you have done the hard work, you know how to race so now is your time to shine :-)
