Happy FriYAY Team!

Last Sunday I was so excited to be part of the Bangers & Scrambled Legs relay team at the GC50. The previous 2 years I had been injured and was unable to be part of this community event, so to participate in this event for 2021, was something very special for me.

Not only was I part of the Multisport Gold Team, I was also part of the Gold Coast running community. This is a community where so many athletes come together to race, participate & complete their events, regardless of age or ability. Not only are these events about a fit & healthy lifestyle, it is also about the friends we meet along our journey.

Our squad tent was positioned next to the 'Norths' club, across from Run Down Under & close to Run Central, all of which Multisport Gold has amazing relationships with. It is these relationships, friendships & networks with other squads & athletes that truly makes the sport of running & triathlon so remarkable.

The word TEAM has so many meanings. When looking back on the huge success of the 2021 GC50 event, the word TEAM to me clearly represents Together Everyone Achieves More.

Over & out for today,

Alli

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 5

Saturday 8th January

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour N# 5 will see us venture to a new play ground for some of us, Varsity Lakes. The course is mainly flat, which means it will be fast! Running with the beautiful Lake Orr as the backdrop will make for a really picturesque course.
With so many weekends in December booked up with races & Events, we will leap forward into 2022 and kick off our Tour Series with something new & exciting!
For those who are keen for a post run recovery swim, we will head to Miami Aquatic Centre. Of course, after training we will head for coffee & breakfast ðŸ™‚
Look forward to seeing our Multisport Gold bling out in force once again!

Multisport Gold Club Champions Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS.

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Multisport Gold Website to see the current Leader Board. It is looking like 2 clear leaders already....

The Racing Buzz

As the sun rose early last Sunday morning, the buzz around the GC50 Hub was one of anxiety, excitement & anticipation of what the event would bring. 5am was an early start for the relay & 50km runners, however it was a very welcome relief to have some cloud cover keeping the heat away. There was a brewing wind for the return leg, and was certainly going to be a challenge for all runners, especially the 2nd relay runners!

In the relay we had Mashy & Craig, Bangers & Scrambled Legs (Alli!) as well as Alan & Chris F-G, & Pete with a  work colleague. We all had outstanding runs, and whilst it was a race // not a race, we all pushed each other along! Thanks for the motivation out there Team.

A huge Kudos to Eiji as he had a start time of 5.30am in the Individual 25km run, along side his beautiful Kahori they ran up & down the beautiful beach with smiles, laughter & energy! So proud of you both.

This certainly was an awesome event, and one where we really do need to get more teams involved next year & make this a Squad relay challenge.

This Saturday a number of the Team will be participating in the Dreamworld Fun Run. Running through the park is going to be such a buzz & can't wait to for us to be part of the community event. We will organize a Squad Photo on the steps of Dreamworld, details will be posted on our Facebook page.

After months of calls of Yes // No, Busselton Ironman takes place on Sunday. This is such a picturesque course & one of huge popularity. Our loudest cheers go out to Brett in the Ironman distance, and Caitlyn in the Aqua bike. Both athletes have been training so hard for their races on Sunday, and we know they will put in their very best performances! We will be cheering you guys on!
