Here we go Team....bring on 2022 I can hear you all say LOL! I know most of you have some really exciting goals ahead for 2022. Now is the time to make those affirmations with yourself to stick to your plans & goals through the easy days & the hard days. We all have an amazing support network all around us, so be sure to use our energy & motivation to bring these goals to reality!

 

With each new year, comes new changes to the WADA Anti Doping list. This is information all of us need to be aware of & a topic I am very passionate about. There is so many sports supplements readily available, which are actually on the banned list due to their ingredients. It is up to each and every one of us to know exactly what you are consuming. There is no excuses for not knowing your supplements/powders. I urge you ALL to grab your products & visit the Sports Integrity Website & check out your substances. 

 

Two of the big changes which we see added to the Banned Substances list for 2022 is the Conditions now applied to Asthma Mediations. If this is you, please check out the latest restrictions.  The 2nd change is the prohibition of cortisone injections within the in-competition period. If you have an injury & are prescribed an injection during the in-comp phase, you will need specific in-advance clearance. Please don't be that person who breaks the rules...we should all be aware of them. Age groupers & Pros are all treated exactly the same.

 

Keeping our sport clean & fair to all, is a responsibility all of us, as athletes & individuals, MUST take seriously. Lets keep our sport clean & have us all on a level playing field. There is so many goals for us out there to achieve, lets make sure we truly are ticking all the boxes.

Covid 19 update
This week, we have seen an alarming increase in the amount of Covid cases, and starting to filter into our area.  Each day there is new advice from the Qld Govt, on new rules & restrictions, it does become quite overwhelming. 😷 
The sports of swim-bike-run, and our training venue of Coomera Aquatic Centre run by Rackleys swimming, currently have NO restrictions in place, however it is encouraged to wear your masks upon entering the Aquatic Centre.
As a coach, I do have a duty of care for all of our athletes, both vaccinated, and in particular, those who remain unvaccinated.
For those unvaccinated athletes, to protect yourself against Covid-19, it is recommended you maintain your social distancing at ALL times.
If you are unwell, with any flu-like symptoms at all, it is advised you get tested immediately & remain in iso until you receive your test results. 
We still must be vigilant when Checking In at each session with the QR code. It is advised that you have your vaccination certificate linked.
Those UNvaccinated athletes, please do not be offended, but it would be appreciated if you could advise me of your current status. This will assist in my duty of care for all squad athletes. This information will not be shared.

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 5

Saturday 8th January

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour N# 5 will see us venture to a new play ground for some of us, Varsity Lakes. The course is mainly flat, which means it will be fast! Running with the beautiful Lake Orr as the backdrop will make for a really picturesque course.

Multisport Gold Club Champions Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS. 

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Club Championship page on  the website to see the current Leader Board. It is looking like 2 clear leaders already....

The Racing Buzz

Congratulations to our runners on their awesome races at the Resolution Run on NY Eve! Once again, it was an awesome event, the racing, the atmosphere, the music & of course the fireworks, made for an memorable way to celebrate 2022! . Congratulations to Erin who placed 3rd female overall. Tim & Bangers both with 2nd place finishes in their categories. And Coach Alli picked up a win in the old girls category too !! 

This Sunday we have great representation from the Multisport Gold Crew at Robina Triathlon. This is always such a great community event & should be an exciting morning of racing once again. Those athletes racing, please take the time to read your Athlete Guide as there is some changes to the timetable & Covid restrictions in place. 

The tent will be up, however it has been encouraged that this will NOT be a meeting area as it usually is. This is now an area for gear storage. It will be extremely important to have your masks on whilst not racing & keeping your social distancing at all time. Despite these restrictions, I know the entire Crew will have an amazing morning & be putting in their best efforts! Lets do this team 

 

Upcoming Training Schedule
  • Saturday is the Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour at Varsity Lakes followed by breakfast afterwards. 
  • Saturday swimming is NOT on this week due to our parkrun on Tour.  
  • Sunday Long ride will NOT be on this week due to Robina Tri. 
  • Swim Squad is Tuesday & Thursday each week at CAAC.  Please arrive by 5.20am as we will be starting at 5.30am sharp.
  • Track remains at Coomera Colts. Please arrive by 5.20pm to start the warm up at 5.30pm sharp. 
  • Hills is  on  at Adidas Park. Please arrive by 5.20pm to start the warm up at 5.30pm.  
  • KOFFEE KMs Friday is back! Departing Highland Reserve Roundabout at 5.15am and the M&L  Roundabout 5.20am. Destination is Paradise Point.
