Happy FriYAY Team!

As a Coach, I see and hear more than what athletes think I do at our training sessions. It is part of my job not only to observe performances, but to also observe attitudes and opinions. All of which I find extremely intriguing.

There are times as an athlete, and a Coach, when we have to step outside our comfort zones, whether it is a hard challenge set on the board at swimming, or most recently, changes in locations for our track sessions due to situations currently out of our control.

What is great to see & hear, are those athletes who accept the session, whether they like it or not, and proceed with a positive mindset & adaptive outlook. They get the job done at 100% of their ability, regardless.

On the flip-side, I do hear the negative comments & criticisms, and I make mental notes of these comments & those athletes who continue to voice them publicly, realizing that while I try my very best as your Coast to the have successful outcomes for the entire squad, there is always going to be nay-sayers.

I am always approachable & open to constructive feedback. Constructive feedback is one of the main pillars to a successful outcome for all concerned.

The key word here is Constructive. Negative comments is not constructive feedback. Negative comments only serves to add to the burden of the situation and diminishes our squads goals.

I would like to thank our Crew who continue to display a positive and Can-Do attitude to all of our training sessions.

When we look at what we may be presented with on race day, hell yes, there can be situations which may not be ideal. But. Do we chuck a wobbly & be ruled by negative influences? Of course NOT. We toughen up, we change our tack, our vision and our mindset so it is filled with positive Lets Do This energy.

Over & out for today,

Alli

Covid Update
This week, we have seen an alarming increase in the amount of Covid cases, and starting to filter into our area.  Each day there is new advice from the Qld Govt, on new rules & restrictions, it does become quite overwhelming. 😷
The sports of swim-bike-run, and our training venue of Coomera Aquatic Centre run by Rackleys swimming, currently have NO restrictions in place, however it is encouraged to wear your masks upon entering the Aquatic Centre.
As a coach, I do have a duty of care for all of our athletes, both vaccinated, and in particular, those who remain unvaccinated.
For those unvaccinated athletes, to protect yourself against Covid-19, it is recommended you maintain your social distancing at ALL times.
If you are unwell, with any flu-like symptoms at all, it is advised you get tested immediately & remain in iso until you receive your test results.
We still must be vigilant when Checking In at each session with the QR code. It is advised that you have your vaccination certificate linked.
Those UNvaccinated athletes, please do not be offended, but it would be appreciated if you could advise me of your current status. This will assist in my duty of care for all squad athletes. This information will not be shared.
Thankyou so much for your continued understanding & co-operation as we weave our way through this Covid maize....again!
Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 6

Saturday 5th February

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #6 will see us venture to the very flat & fast course at Kirra. Looking for a new pb, then this could be place to do it! Starting just south of the Kirra SLSC, this is an out & back course along the picturesque southern GC beachfront.

In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember! Yes, it will be our time to dominate again!

Whilst the drive may be a tad longer for us on the Northern end, this truly is such a spectacular course...so come on Team,  #letsdothis!

Without any doubts, there will be Coffee & Breakfast afterwards as usual!

Club Championship Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS.

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Club Championship page on  the website to see the current Leader Board.

Nutrition

A very exciting new page has been added to our Multisport Gold Website this week!

Nutrition is such a critical part of our training, fueling, recovery & good health is something which all of us, as athletes, should take very seriously! We all spend hard earned dollars on our programs, our sessions, our equipment, and it is generally our nutrition which is neglected! In fact, it should be on top of our priority list!

A number of the Crew attended the Sports Nutrition Workshop with Nicole from Ascent Sports Nutrition, so not only does our newest page have a few delicious recipes to try out, it also has a link to Nicole's business for athletes looking for specific direction from a highly regarded Accredited Sports Dietitian.

Check it out team, it really is a great new feature. You can find it in the Teams dropdown bar!

Big thanks to our IT Guru Gordo!

Enjoy !

The Racing Buzz

Some of our crew will remember Fi, one truly gutsy and courageous chick who was a member of Multisport Gold for a number of years, finishing her 1st Ironman at Port in 2016 in a cracking time of 12:41:13

Soon after this Fi moved to Adelaide, however she would join us for our Wednesday Watts Zwift ride, so she was never far away!
Recently Fi asked me to start her back up on a program again, and knowing how driven Fi is, when she showed me the list of goals she wanted to accomplish in 2022….I was so incredibly excited to have her back in the program.
Last Sunday, Fi raced the ATR trail series in Adelaide, her 1st trail race for quite a while!
Fi, had an outstanding race, finishing 18th female outright, 4th in her category and totally nailed the last 5km, bringing it home so strong, I’m sure there is plenty of girls in her age group thinking “where did this Fiona chick come from?”
Congratulations on this return to racing Fi, the next few racing in the ATR Series are going to be so exciting!

A shout out to the Multisport Gold runners heading up to Tambo this Sunday for the Teams Relay! Have great races everyone!
