Happy FriYAY Team!
It has been another busy week in the Multisport Gold world with plenty going on right now.
As athletes, we all have our goal races, our personal targets & we all strive to reach these regardless of what they are. For some it is racing their 1st event, others it is a time or podium position, for some at the pinnacle it is striving to meet the world standards.
2022 is going to see a huge back end of the year for 3 of our outstanding & inspiring athletes. These athletes have trained, raced & followed their dreams in their successful qualifications for World Championship Events. These events aren't just handed out. They have to be fought for. They have to be earnt. They are a sacrifice on so many levels and it is also time spent away from their families.
In October of this year, we have Brett making his journey to the iconic Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona. This is the holy grail of Ironman Racing, and will be a life changing event for Brett.
A few weeks later, we have Bangers & Kath on the start line in Utah, St George for the 70.3 Ironman World Championships. This is one hard course however these 2 gutsy athletes will be in their elements out there on their race days.
Team, regardless of what your goals or dreams are, don't ever lose sight of them. These incredible 3 athletes amongst us have had to work so hard for these qualifications. They have no excuses. They have a dream. They have belief in THEMSELVES.
They have no ifs, buts, or I can't.
They only have I can, I will & Watch me.
Over & out for today,
Alli |

This week, we have seen an alarming increase in the amount of Covid cases, and starting to filter into our area. Each day there is new advice from the Qld Govt, on new rules & restrictions, it does become quite overwhelming.
The sports of swim-bike-run, and our training venue of Coomera Aquatic Centre run by Rackleys swimming, currently have NO restrictions in place, however it is encouraged to wear your masks upon entering the Aquatic Centre.
As a coach, I do have a duty of care for all of our athletes, both vaccinated, and in particular, those who remain unvaccinated.
For those unvaccinated athletes, to protect yourself against Covid-19, it is recommended you maintain your social distancing at ALL times.
If you are unwell, with any flu-like symptoms at all, it is advised you get tested immediately & remain in iso until you receive your test results.
We still must be vigilant when Checking In at each session with the QR code. It is advised that you have your vaccination certificate linked.
Those UNvaccinated athletes, please do not be offended, but it would be appreciated if you could advise me of your current status. This will assist in my duty of care for all squad athletes. This information will not be shared.
Thankyou so much for your continued understanding & co-operation as we weave our way through this Covid maize....again!

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 6 |
| |
|
Saturday 5th February
Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #6 will see us venture to the very flat & fast course at Kirra. Looking for a new pb, then this could be place to do it! Starting just south of the Kirra SLSC, this is an out & back course along the picturesque southern GC beachfront.
In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember! Yes, it will be our time to dominate again!
Whilst the drive may be a tad longer for us on the Northern end, this truly is such a spectacular course...so come on Team, #letsdothis!
Without any doubts, there will be Coffee & Breakfast afterwards as usual! |

A very exciting new page has been added to our Multisport Gold Website this week!
Nutrition is such a critical part of our training, fueling, recovery & good health is something which all of us, as athletes, should take very seriously! We all spend hard earned dollars on our programs, our sessions, our equipment, and it is generally our nutrition which is neglected! In fact, it should be on top of our priority list!
A number of the Crew attended the Sports Nutrition Workshop with Nicole from Ascent Sports Nutrition, so not only does our newest page have a few delicious recipes to try out, it also has a link to Nicole's business for athletes looking for specific direction from a highly regarded Accredited Sports Dietitian.
Check it out team, it really is a great new feature. You can find it in the Teams dropdown bar!
Big thanks to our IT Guru Gordo!
Enjoy ! |

Wednesday was Australia Day, and despite some challenging conditions, we had 2 of our hard core athletes on the start lines for Burleigh Swim // Run. Our young pocket rocket Bo raced so hard, finishing in 2nd place in his category. Bo didn't have the best of swims, he was 25 secs off the leader, but put in the run of the day to make up 23 secs....only to be pipped at the post by 2 secs! Such a gallant effort Bo! Then moments before the women's race started, the race officials moved the turn buoys as the men were struggling with the conditions, and Trin to her credit, put up one gutsy effort to finish 3rd in her category! Sensational racing Bo & Trin!
Sunday we also had the Teams relays at Tambourine Mountain. Multisport Gold was so well represented again this year with teams of Alan & Lisa, Justin & Suzie, John T & Mashy! Thankyou team for sharing your race photos, you all had outstanding runs & your smiles say how much fun you all had!
This weekend, finally, Kingy Tri is going ahead! With so many postponements & cancelations of race starts, it is really exciting to see the popular community race back on again. A shout out to our team who are heading down to race! Here's hoping the tides are in your favour, the roads are smooth & the run is enjoyable! Have fun team, its going to be a great morning of racing! #Letsdothis |
