Happy FriYAY Team!

Wasn't it exciting last weekend watching the race results come in from so many events Multisport Gold athletes were participating in! I get so proud when athletes give their 100% effort.

Their results, regardless of a win, a PB, or a pure gutsy performance, all stem from the hard work done in training. There is never any soft options and there is never an easy way if YOU truly want to excel.

You can't learn to hurt by having the perfect prep. If you don't think outside the box & be adaptable, apply yourself to each session, and be willing to challenge yourself, you will have the same end result over & over again.

There is so many wonderful opportunities, incredible training routes & inspiring training buddies to keep us all motivated & positive during our journeys into our goal races.

Take a moment to really look at your overall mindset in your training and you will have a pretty clear picture of the mindset you will have on race day.  Take short cuts, easy options and selling yourself short will only end in disappointment.

Finishers medals aren't given given out willy nilly. They have to be earnt.

Lets do This,

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 7

Saturday 12th March

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #7 will see us venture up the Mountain to Tambo parkrun! This course is an interesting one, as it is run on a mixture of gravel & concrete paths, grass paddocks and bush trails. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain....Tambo has it all!! Don't be late as they start 7.00am sharp!!
In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember!
With some amazing coffee shops at Tambo, we can smell the coffee already!

(So sorry for those racing Mooloolaba on that same weekend...there is so much on in the coming months its hard to find a weekend to suit everyone!)

Club Championship Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS.

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Club Championship page on  the website to see the current Leader Board.

Nutrition

A very exciting new page has been added to our Multisport Gold Website this week!

Nutrition is such a critical part of our training, fueling, recovery & good health is something which all of us, as athletes, should take very seriously! We all spend hard earned dollars on our programs, our sessions, our equipment, and it is generally our nutrition which is neglected! In fact, it should be on top of our priority list!

A number of the Crew attended the Sports Nutrition Workshop with Nicole from Ascent Sports Nutrition, so not only does our newest page have a few delicious recipes to try out, it also has a link to Nicole's business for athletes looking for specific direction from a highly regarded Accredited Sports Dietitian.

Check it out team, it really is a great new feature. You can find it in the Teams dropdown bar!

Big thanks to our IT Guru Gordo!

Enjoy !

The Racing Buzz

Wow...what a hectic time of the year for racing! So great to have our squad on start lines & every one putting in their best efforts, doing Multisport Gold so Proud.

Sunday was the SEQ Trail Series Rd 6 at Hinze Dam, with Multisport Gold being represented in both the long & short distance races! A HUGE shout out to Erin who took the overall Female WIN in the Long Course event.....you are amazing Erin! And congrats to Tim finishing 2nd & Jezz 3rd in their respective categories. Well done to Kahori who was amazingly strong in the long course event & did herself & the squad so proud. In the Short course we had the ever consistent Trin placing 3rd in her category.

Last Friday was the Queensland All Schools Triathlon at Harvey Bay. Our young Bo raced so hard right from the start, 2nd out of the swim, 1st off the bike, and held off a tight run to pull away with 200m to go...taking out the STATE CHAMPION title. So proud of you Bo, your hard work in training certainly paid off!  On Saturday, Bo & his team raced in the relay, winning the STATE title & placing 2nd overall, only just behind the 1st Senior team. A nice collection of bling for you Bo !! Nationals are in September. Bring it on :-)

Then, the race of the weekend was definitely Darls V Darls at Geelong 70.3. After many months of hard training, time management & early starts, we saw Kath & Pete on the start line for a chilly AM in Geelong. Both our MSGold Superstars raced so strong, so gutsy and with such grit, we are all so incredibly proud of both their results. Kath placed an awesome 3rd in her category. Next up for Kath....World Champs in Utah in October.  Pete, despite not hitting the mark he was hoping for, had such a solid race both mentally & physically & is pumped to head back next year to crush it. Always so positive Pete.

This weekend we have racing at Tweed Enduro. We have Sarah in the long course event as a prep race for Port IM. We also have Kelly in the Aqua Bike and will no doubt be so strong! #letsdothis girls!
