Happy FriYAY Team!

Wow. What a week we have all endured with the flooding and storms around SEQ. Some of the deluge was relentless, and actually quite scary at times. Despite the huge amounts of rain we received here over the weekend, our thoughts really do go out to those in the Brisbane area who have lost so much. Seeing all the destruction & losses on the news each night, really does make me feel lucky we have come out the other side unscathed.

We had Martin & Linda, Alan & Lisa as well as Matty B flooded in over the weekend, however we had not loss of property which we are all so grateful for.

There is more rain forecast over the coming days, remember safety is always first so If Its Flooded, Forget It!

Any training sessions cancelled will be posted on Facebook as soon as possible.

For anyone looking to make donations to the devastated areas in SEQ and NSW, givit.org.au are taking donations.

A huge shout out to all our beautiful mums, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends as we celebrate International Women's on Saturday. Lets make this one very special day for all the amazing women in our lives and thankyou all for the huge part you continue to have on our everyday lives.

Lets do This,

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 7

Saturday 12th March

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #7 will see us venture up the Mountain to Tambo parkrun! This course is an interesting one, as it is run on a mixture of gravel & concrete paths, grass paddocks and bush trails. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain....Tambo has it all!! Don't be late as they start 7.00am sharp!!
In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember!
With some amazing coffee shops at Tambo, we can smell the coffee already!

(So sorry for those racing Mooloolaba on that same weekend...there is so much on in the coming months its hard to find a weekend to suit everyone!)

Club Championship Series

The 2021-22 Queensland Triathlon Series {QTS} is now well under way and this is going to be the series we centre our Multisport Gold Club Championship on.

For those who want to be part of this Club Champs series, a few points to comply with:

  • Your results MUST be input into the form to the right, after each event.
  • You MUST be a member of Triathlon Queensland & MultisportGOLD.
  • You MUST wear squad kit whilst racing.
  • You MUST be smiling in all racing photos (LoL!)

The athlete with the highest score for the Queensland Triathlon Series will be awarded MALE AND FEMALE CLUB CHAMPIONS.

The Leader Board is updated after each race, so jump across to the Club Championship page on  the website to see the current Leader Board.

Nutrition

A very exciting new page has been added to our Multisport Gold Website this week!

Nutrition is such a critical part of our training, fueling, recovery & good health is something which all of us, as athletes, should take very seriously! We all spend hard earned dollars on our programs, our sessions, our equipment, and it is generally our nutrition which is neglected! In fact, it should be on top of our priority list!

A number of the Crew attended the Sports Nutrition Workshop with Nicole from Ascent Sports Nutrition, so not only does our newest page have a few delicious recipes to try out, it also has a link to Nicole's business for athletes looking for specific direction from a highly regarded Accredited Sports Dietitian.

Check it out team, it really is a great new feature. You can find it in the Teams dropdown bar!

Big thanks to our IT Guru Gordo!

Enjoy !

The Racing Buzz

Its also been one of those weeks where race Organizers have had some very hard decisions to make & put safety of all involved  in various races 1st and cancel events.  After all we have been through with Covid, we have more upheaval with the floods. However, these decisions are the right ones & we thank race organizers for all the hard work they do for our events.

We have cancelled Raby Bay Tri, SEQ Ewan Maddock & Tweed Enduro last weekend.

With some brighter news, this Saturday is our Squads Dash N Splash at Main Beach parkrun. Be on the start line at 7.00am for a really enjoyable run (and hopefully not too wet!) run around this really pretty course at Main Beach. Then its time to hit the cafe for food & hopefully the beach for some social time together. For those heading to Mooloolaba Tri the following weekend, this would be the perfect opportunity to head into the surf for some open water practice. This is looking to be another fantastic social morning for the Crew.

Upcoming Training Schedule
  • Saturday POOL swimming is NOT on this week.
  • Saturday Dash N Splash. This is a social run at Main Beach parkrun followed by some frivolity with the crew in the surf, sand & sun afterwards. All are welcome! Keep your eyes on the weather forecast for this squad event!
  • Sunday Long ride will be rolling out from Ox Lake at 5.30am SHARP for some TT efforts around Monterey Keys. Coach Alli will not be riding this week so this ride is not a squad sanctioned ride. Those athletes on programs, please know what your set & RoB is please.
