Happy FriYAY Team!

Saturday mornings at parkrun have become part of the MultiSport Gold culture, starting 11 years ago when the 1st parkrun began in Australia at Main Beach, and for our squad, when Renee showed up at Coomera to launch it in our local area!

Not only is this where many of the Crew embrace the  community fitness spirit, but the weekly opportunity to push ourselves for that illusive 5km pb, run for enjoyment or racing against your rival! Whatever our reason for running parkrun, it is something we all love to be part of.

Last week, looking through the list of Multisport Gold athletes and their pbs, I know this was such a huge reward for many of the crew with hard work over the hotter months paying off.

For anyone out there looking for a parkrun pb....the coming few weeks is the time to focus on pushing those limits and targeting a pb. With the cooler weather right now, it is perfect for our bodies to operate more efficiently under stress. The cooler temps reduce the cardiovascular strain on the body, which includes a lower heart rate and dehydration levels, meaning we can run faster for less stress on the body.

So Team, all of the hard work, high heart rates, sweat-a-thons have all be for a reason over the summer months....so make the most of the temps & be on that start line confident and ready to fire up!

Lets do This,

Alli

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 8

Saturday 14th May

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #8 will see us venture to a course not many of us have done! Yarrabilba! The course is at Darlington Parklands, Yarrabilba & is run entirely on foot paths. It is a 3 1/2 lap course, run entirely in an anti-clockwise direction, with signage stenciled onto the paths.
For those looking for a 3.5km warm up, we will meet at Logan Village, on Waterford-Tambourine Rd at 6.15am. Then after parkrun, and easy jog back to the cars. From here, we will find a coffee shop (open to suggestions!! ) to regroup & swap run stories!

In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember!
The Racing Buzz

Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial certainly was an event which had it all! The perfect race conditions, a fast course, great community atmosphere, Multisport Gold members all over the course and plenty of cheers for our very successful crew! Thanks to all our Team who made the morning so fantastic, and huge appreciation to our supporters who make such a difference with your cheers!  Congratulations to all of our racers, with a special shout out to Marion & Bo on their podiums at this Queensland State Sprint Champs Event!

This Sunday we have a number of our Crew racing in the Tour de Brisbane Cycle event. This is such a fantastic event with many highlights throughout this tough course. Riding through the closed roads of Brisbane City, the Storey Bridge and the City tunnels before heading out to the rolling hills, it is an event to test the best riders! Safe and fast riding to all!

The Cooly Classic is on this Sunday and should be an awesome open water swim event as always. A huge shout out to Anthony, Mary's husband, who has been training so hard for this event over the last 12 weeks. We know you'll smash the 5km course Ant, its your time to put all the hard work you've done into a strong race. Kelly is also on the start line for the 5km and we know she will be up amongst the leaders. Go Kelly!  #letsdothis
