Happy FriYAY Team!

Its taken 3 years, with setback from Covid & Mother nature, and finally, we are all systems GO for Port Macquarie Ironman & 70.3 this weekend!

This event and race has some extremely fond memories for me over both distances with wins & podiums over this tough course. Personally, the harder the course the better as it truely does sort out those athletes who have trained for the terrain and those who haven't are soon spat out the back!

Watching our Crew over recent weeks go from strength to strength, as well as overcoming personal obstacles, it is clear that Multisport Gold will be represented by a group of very fit  and strong athletes on Sunday!

The atmosphere in Port around this time is always such a buzz, and come race day, the energy out on course will lift all competitors to another level. After 3 years, it will certainly be an event to draw so much from in terms of motivation & possitivity!

Our athetes heading to the start line on Sunday morning, the kms have been banked. The work has been done. It is all now about withdrawing on your deposits and having the belief in yourself that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

The months of early mornings, long rides, brick sessions and laps in the pool all come together for this one day. The one day you can embrace the challenge before you and 100% get out there to #findit & #ownit.

Let's do This,

Alli

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 8

Saturday 14th May

Multisport Gold parkrun on Tour #8 will see us venture to a course not many of us have done! Yarrabilba! The course is at Darlington Parklands, Yarrabilba & is run entirely on foot paths. It is a 3 1/2 lap course, run entirely in an anti-clockwise direction, with signage stenciled onto the paths.
For those looking for a 3.5km warm up, we will meet at Logan Village, on Waterford-Tambourine Rd at 6.15am. Then after parkrun, and easy jog back to the cars. From here, we will find a coffee shop (open to suggestions!! ) to regroup & swap run stories!

In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember!
The Racing Buzz

GC Run Festival turned on a perfect morning for racing on Sunday and it was so great to see our Multisport Gold Kits throughout the field! This is not an easy course so a huge congratulations to our Team in the 10km & 21.1km events. A special mention to Harriet who finished her 1st 1km Fun Run!!! This race is a great stepping stone towards the GC30 event and then into GCM, its full steam ahead after some fantastic results team :-)

Sunday was also the Cooly Classic which was postponed from 2 weeks ago. Once again, due to treacherous conditions, the 5km swim which actually started, was cancelled 1/2 way through and swimmers had to be rescued, including the elites! The Multisport Gold swimmers made it out to and around the 1st buoy in such rough and scary conditions, this is a real credit to their mental ability to dig deep and have confidence that you are capable of overcoming any obstacle. Ant, Matt & Kelly have been training so hard so its a huge Kudos to you all!

Sunday is the day this week when we see so many of our Crew head down to Port for Ironman & 70.3. For the Ironman  event we have Sara & Nathan ready to go! 70.3 has a great representation with Martin & Linda, Matty, Sally, Sharyn & Liz.  We look forward to tracking you all day & cheering you on!
