Happy FriYAY Team!

With a break over the Winter for Triathlon racing, it is time to look forward to the 2022-23 season and start making some goals & plans moving forward. Nothing is more motivating than having target races to keep us feeling positive over these cold months.

As the 1st July rolls around, it is time to renew your annual Triathlon Australia memberships. There is a number of various options available to purchase, so make sure you take the time to read through all the advantages of each level. Multisport Gold is once again, proud to be affiliated with Triathlon Australia.

The coming Triathlon season will also see a new Multisport Gold Club Champions Series. Last season we Crowned our 1st ever Champions with Jase G & Kath....who is going to give them a run for their money next season? There will be the inclusion of a few other races throughout the series, so be sure to check out all the details & make your stamp on the series!

For all our new & renewing members, once again for the upcoming season we have our Squad Welcome Gift. Over recent years we have had the Multisport Gold towel & chamois, the Esky, a picnic rug.....what will your next piece of Multisport Merch be?? One thing I can guarantee, they are going to look amazing out & about at the races....everyone will see the Multisport Gold Crew coming!

Let's do This,

Alli

Multisport Gold Take 3 parkrun on tour Number 8

Take 3 Saturday 16th July

Multisport Gold Take 3 parkrun on Tour #8, keeping our fingers crossed, will see us venture to a course not many of us have done! Yarrabilba! The course is at Darlington Parklands, Yarrabilba & is run entirely on foot paths. It is a 3 1/2 lap course, run entirely in an anti-clockwise direction, with signage stenciled onto the paths.
For those looking for a 3.5km warm up, we will meet at Logan Village, on Waterford-Tambourine Rd at 6.15am. Then after parkrun, and easy jog back to the cars. From here, we will find a coffee shop (open to suggestions!! ) to regroup & swap run stories!

In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours over the course will be another parkrun on Tour to remember!
The Racing Buzz

Last Sunday we were all glued to Ironman Live watching Mary smash her way through the Cairns 70.3 course. This is a challenging course as the open water swim is murky & usually quite choppy. The bike, whilst is one of the most scenic rides you can do, it does have some quality elevations and difficult cross-winds, and lets be honest, and 21.1km is always hard LOL  Mary, to her absolute credit, put in all the hard work required, ticked all her training boxes and come race day, backed herself and the results where there. Mary, the hugest congratulations to you for such a stella performance. We honestly are all so incredibly proud of you!

One of our other Multisport Gold members, Phillip, also raced in Cairns at 70.3. Phillip also had an outstanding race, so good in fact he had a few minutes PB AND made it to the podium in 2nd place in his category! Huge congratulations to you Phillip!

Saturday, our Ultra Queen Erin, will be on the start line for the BVRT 50 miler (or 85kms!) This is a far different event for Erin as there isn't a lot of elevations, so this is really going to be an exciting new adventure for her. Erin puts in so much hard work and is such a huge part of our Multisport Gold family. Erin, we will be with you throughout this epic run, so please use our energy when the going gets tough. And Tim, may all the checkpoints be smooth & stress-free :-)

There was a Poll up on our Facebook page last week in relation to using the Griffith Uni Athletics track. We ran a track session there last Sunday and wow, it really is an awesome venue. The results from the Poll clearly reflecting the majority of our regulars at Track each week, would be happy to use the facility once a month, with the other 3 track sessions back at CAC. So, Tuesday 21st June we will have a Trial Track at Griffith Uni Track, Gold Coast Campus. The start time will be 5.30pm for warm up, however the main set won't be starting until 6.00pm so it doesn't matter too much if your running late!  There is parking at the track and wrist bands must be purchased at the track office (located at the top of the grandstand) before we can use the track. All are welcome to come along & give this a trial....the more feedback we get from this session we can make a firm commitment to our ongoing locations.

Upcoming events to jot into your diaries!

Each year we head out for a celebration after GCM, it is such a great time to catchup with our training buddies, congratulate, swap race day stories, embellish our recollections of the day and really enjoy a social night out! This year, we are making a change to the HarbourVue Tavern at Coomera Waters, which is a lovely relaxed atmosphere over looking the water. We do have an outdoor undercover area booked so there is space for the kids to run around (yippee say the parents!) This does mean you may need to rug up as it could be chilly! The menu is delicious so this really is one for the squad to get together to celebrate our efforts over the past few months & race day! This has been booked for Sunday 3rd July at 5.30pm.

And Girls, don't forget to lock in Saturday 9th July for our Girls Day Out, starting with Kirra parkrun followed by breakfast at Ground Currumbin. We then have a booking at 11.00am at Bathhouse session, for hot spas & pampering. This is going to be a great morning for the Girls to do Girlie things & hang out together! Details are on our Facebook page.
