Happy FriYAY Team!
Happy Birthday to Coomera parkrun! Wow, and what a morning it was! Mother Nature turned on a cracker with the weather for this celebration and it was truly so special to see so many locals on the start line on Saturday. With runners from the past through to the present, having so many like-minded people come together really made for a memorable celebration!
10 years ago, I was on that 1st start line, unsure of what this whole 'parkrun' concept was, but once I'd completed one event, I was totally hooked! I have met so many lifelong friends from this community event, had so many tussles with some incredible runners and been able to run parkruns wherever I may go. parkrun has truly changed my life & I will forever be grateful for the opportunities, friendships & memories over these years. Kath was also on the start line at Coomera 10 years ago, and whilst I have just clicked over my 252nd parkrun, Kath is approaching her 400th!!! WOW. Keep an eye on the Facebook Events page for this epic celebration details!!
To our entire MultisportGOLD family, friends & supporters, thankyou for making Coomera parkrun such a huge part of our culture!
Let's do This,

Alan Alan Alan has done it again! He has been on the start line of an Ultra marathon, and totally smashed it! With a grueling 53 kms of technical terrain, 2800m of elevations, he crossed the finish line with a huge smile & impressive time of just over 7 hours! Huge congrats to you Alan, absolutely sensational race! You are going to be so strong in February at Tarawera!
One of our quite achievers, Matt Robertson, is about to embark on an epic experience at the Magnetic Island to Townsville swim on Saturday! Matt is swimming 8km, and going by his form over the last few weeks, he is going to have a brilliant ocean swim. |
