WEEKLY GOLD TUFF STUFF

Happy FriYAY Team!

I really do love when there is a big weekend of racing on the calendar and we have our Multisport Gold athletes perfecting their craft over a range of various sports.

Over the years, we really have branched out and taken a love and accepted challenges in a variety of activities.  We have so many opportunities to step outside the triathlon bubble and really go exploring..

The word Multisport, really does mean that within our group. The diversity is exactly what we thrive on and keeps us with open minds to new adventures and striving for new goals. Don't be afraid of pushing a new bounding and setting yourself a new goal! There is nothing to lose and everything to gain by jumping into something which both scares and excites you.

Watching our crew over the weekend as they run 105km, support crewing and pacing, cycling 160km through Noosa, racing various running distances on the Sunny Coast , there was not one triathlon is sight yet there was a multitude of us out there representing our Squad.

To add to this success, we have all the messages which come through from so many of those not on the start lines. Encouragement, support, congratulations & banter on both  social media and Strava means so much to those out racing, so thankyou to our Team who extended their support.

For 20+ years I've been racing triathlon over all distances and destinations worldwide, and honestly I never thought I would be on the start line of an Ultra trail run, trail running certainly is not my strength. However, thanks to those around me who have opened up my blinkers to a whole new wide world, I now have my 2nd Ultra coming up in a few weeks time and I couldn't be more excited!

Life is to short to be boring and too repetitive, and lets face it, age is just a number!  I'm sending out a huge thankyou to the incredible athletes within our Squad who have the courage, craziness and passion to spread their vision amongst us.

Multisport Gold, lets all continue being diverse and accepting those scary & exciting challenges which will continue to raise the bar for all of us!

Let's do This,

The Racing Buzz

Last Saturday, our Trail Queen Erin, was on the start line for the Scenic Rim Ultra marathon of 105km. This is the race last year which was reduced in distance due to local fires surrounding the course. Erin was the 1st person to the final checkpoint on this race and was declared the overall winner. Remarkable effort.

This year, Erin was out to run just as strong, and she finished a very challenging, technical and difficult course as the 1st female (by 4hours!) and 3rd outright. Just mind-blowing Erin, wow wow wow! Tim was her support crew & final 20km pacer, so Kudos to you Tim for being part of Erin's epic performance.

Our Lads up in Noosa for the 160km cycle absolutely crushed it, coming in well under their targets times. This is a very challenging ride, so well done on your efforts out there.

Sunny Coast 1/2 marathon was again a huge success and Multiport Gold was well represented over all distances. Congratulations to all our runners out there on the course, you should all be extremely proud of your efforts.
