WEEKLY GOLD TUFF STUFF

Happy FriYAY Team!

After spending the last 20+ years of my life living & breathing triathlon,  achieving all I wanted to in this sport we love, 2022 has been year of exploring different avenues and pushing myself to the limits of what the mind and body can accomplish.

There is a quote I have on our fridge at home which I look at every day. "If your dreams don't scare you, they probably aren't big enough"

It is truly amazing what we can achieve when there is a goal and a dream you have to strive for. Completing my 2nd 52km Ultra marathon last week at Surf Coast Century was an event I will remember for a long time to come! Not only in terms of the conditions we had to compete in, but the extraordinarily beautiful scenery around the Great Ocean Road area. My long runs each week would scare me but I dug in & got them done.

If you had told me 12 months ago I would be competing in Ultra marathons, I would've laughed & replied, "That crazy running is not for me, that's for those weird dreadlocked hippie runners!!!"

Whilst the atmosphere at Ultras is vastly different to a triathlon, the start line feels, sportsmanship, self belief & pride is still the same. There is fast athletes who are out there to win, there is age groupers after their finish medals, there is volunteers & race directors all wanting to put on events to help people like me, overcome their fears & be proud of their journey.

The dreams & goals I have certainly do scare me, and I personally love the challenges I set for myself. yes, Anything truly is possible.

There is so many of our crew out there who are branching out, entering races which are extremely scary and I am sure they will question their decision in the coming months, but the journey we will travel is not so scaring when we know we are in this together. Lets smash those fears, and conquering our dreams & goals.

Let's do This,

Alli

Multisport Gold parkrun on tour Number 10

Saturday 24th September

This is our parkrun on Tour #10, and yes, we certainly have been travelling all over the countryside with our parkrun on Tour adventures, and shared so much fun together!
Most of us have run this course so know it is flat, fast & a great course to target a pb, so here we come Mudgeeraba!
In true Multisport Gold style, having our squad colours on course will be another great parkrun on Tour to remember!
One of our favourite cafes, Home Plate Kitchen is a short drive away, so we will have breakfast, coffee & laughs post parkrun here
