WEEKLY GOLD TUFF STUFF

Happy FriYAY Team!

Triathlon is more than just a sport. Yes, we all love it and all have our personal goals, but there is more to it than just training & racing.

The week leading into Kona for me is always an exciting, and difficult one as there is so many incredible memories which come flooding back. Seeing all the spam coming through on socials, really does make me want to be back on the Big Island of Hawaii, to be part of the greatest sporting event on the planet.

I was riding on Zwift the other morning, and a song came on my playlist that I'd never really listened to the lyrics closely before, but for some reason, I heard every single word of this song. It was like the song was being sung to me about my times in Kona. I was almost in tears, and it takes a lot to bring me to tears!!!

But there were tears of happiness and joy, of all the incredible experiences this sport of triathlon has brought to me over 20+ years,  and my family more recently. The places I have traveled to, the venues I have raced at and the results I have achieved, have all made me who I am today.

But mostly, it is the people I have met along the way that I feel so much personal fulfillment from. Random people that I have connected with at races are now life long friends, my competitors that I hate on the start line but would do anything for outside of racing, when like-minded people come together and bonds are created. And of course, the MultiSport Gold Family.  To me, these bonds are the greatest gift in our sport.

So whilst I reflect on the experiences, learnings, mother nature and her elements, the history and all things Kona and Triathlon, above all I am the most grateful for the joys of friendships I have been blessed with over the years in this sport.

Let's do This,

Alli

The Racing Buzz

This Sunday is Moreton Bay Triathlon, which is always such a popular event! This year the 2 distances for athletes are the Club Distance and Sprint. Being a flat and fast course, we wish our athletes strong legs and big lungs! Mary, Emma, Marion, Phillip, Sharyn will all be on the start line ready to GO! Have fun out there team. #letsdothis

Sunday will also see Kahori & Eiji on the start line of the Toohey Trail run in Brisbane. This is a 21.1km through the beautiful grounds of the Griffith University Mount Nathan Campus. And no, they aren't running for beer, it is through the Toohey Forest!!!

Of course, we have Bretty racing on Saturday, or Sunday AM our time. There will be plenty going on with our Facebook Page, so lets all get amongst and show Bretty how proud we all are of him! Anything is Possible #479

Multisport Gold Take 2 parkrun on tour Number 11

Saturday 12th November

Our parkrun on Tour #10 to Mudgeeraba was cancelled and relocated due to flooding, so lets head back to Mudgeeraba for our Tour #11. Mudgeeraba is such a pretty course, it is fast and flat, so this is a great venue to try for a pb!

This will also be a great opportunity to welcome back our World Championships athletes as a social morning out together. Of course there will be breakfast afterwards.

Details for a warm up jog will be posted as we get closer to the date.
