WEEKLY GOLD TUFF STUFF

Happy FriYAY Team!

After 3 over months of solid training, it is now time for us to send our 70.3 World Championship athletes, Kath and Bangers to the a marquee moment in their lives. Our much loved and admired team mates have done the work and are now ready to be on the start line in 8 & 9 days’ time.

Looking back, Bangers actually qualified for this World Champs race in 2019! With Covid and various race delays, it certainly has been a long time coming! Banger's awesome attitude and dedication has shone through in keeping his dream goal on target.  Kath qualified in Geelong at the beginning of this year, and given her incredibly hectic life, Kath has been absolutely outstanding in her prep.

Yes, racing at a World Championship event in an immense honour and these positions certainly aren’t' handed out to just any athlete who crosses a finish line. One has to qualify, commit considerable time, resources, sacrifices, and effort to be amongst other athletes who are at the top of their game in long course triathlon.   Whilst the hard yards are done over many months, it is going to be the most incredible experience for Kath, Bangers and their families and friends who will travel to St George, Utah on Sunday. The atmosphere, the vibe, the calibre of athletes from around the world, the expo, the functions, all make up a championship event they will remember for the rest of their lives.

As we have witnessed their efforts, Kath and Bangers will embrace this incredible journey they are about to experience. To you both, we know you will both be out there doing your absolute best. From your MSGold family, the feeling of joy and elation that you both will bring when you cross the finish line flying our colours with your big smiles will be a moment we all will savior.  We are all so proud of you. We will be cheering you on from afar next Friday and Saturday, and seriously can't wait to hear all about it upon your return!

Kath & Bangers, it really is Your Time to Shine! #findit #ownit #letsdothis

Saturday 12th November

Our parkrun on Tour #10 to Mudgeeraba was cancelled and relocated due to flooding, so lets head back to Mudgeeraba for our Tour #11. Mudgeeraba is such a pretty course, it is fast and flat, so this is a great venue to try for a pb!

This will also be a great opportunity to welcome back our World Championships athletes as a social morning out together. Of course there will be breakfast afterwards.

Details for a warm up jog will be posted as we get closer to the date.
