Happy FriYAY Team!

The tent was up, the bike racks were loaded & the Multisport Gold race kits scattered the course. Sure the conditions were not ideal, but that certainly did not stop our Team from putting their best efforts in on Sunday at Moreton Bay. And by best efforts, I don't just mean our racing, I also mean our sportsmanship, our team pride & our support for each other. The high 5s, the cheers & the finish line banter made for such in incredible day for our entire Crew. 

To be at presentation together, to hear our name announced as 2nd place & to be up receiving our cheque as a united Team, truly was something we are all so very proud of. 

To each & every one of our athletes, from those who raced for the 1st time, those who made come-backs, those who earnt us valuable points, those with pbs, and those on the podium, I am so incredibly grateful to be part of, and have you all part of, OUR Squad, OUR Family, Multisport Gold. 

Sundays race will also marked the start of the Multisport Gold Male & Female Club Championship series. This is the 1st year we have had this Series, so remember to enter your race results on our Multisport Gold webpage. The tab is Club Championships, and just follow the prompts. Gotta be in it to win it right!

2022 Queensland Club Champs.....look out all those Multisport Gold Members who didn't race....Coach Alli is going to be hounding you....because YOU are worth points!!! We will be more strategic next year & cover a wider range of age categories &  enter some teams, as well as racing in all distances from the Enticer (for the kids) through to the Olympic Distance for the Adults. It honestly is an awesome morning out.....so 2022.....will be ours to ROCK THE CATEGORY!

The Scenic Rim Ultra marathon is arguably the most grueling Ultra marathon in Australia. The terrain, the elevations, the descents, are only for the strong of mind & body. This year, with a postponed event, saw our quiet achiever Erin, on the start line fired up & ready to go. 

Races very rarely go to plan, and within the first 10km, Erin had taken a 3km wrong turn, but with Tim at the next Checkpoint, he was able to reassure her & reset her to focus on the kms ahead.

The heat & humidity continued to rise throughout the day, and Erin soon found it hard to consume food, but knew she had to get the calories to and keep going. Her grit and determination never waivered despite this.

As the race progressed, an out of control bush fire past Checkpoint 8 meant the race organizers had no choice but to cancel the race at this checkpoint, 85km into the run.

Erin, had been in the lead for many kilometers now, and entering Checkpoint 8 as the 1st athlete, and was therefore awarded the OVERALL Winner of the Scenic Rim Ultra marathon. Yes, that's right, she beat all the guys, the entire field, she is the CHAMPION :-) 

Erin. You are such a hard worker, so methodical, so determined, and we are SO PROUD of your achievement on Saturday. And to Tim, you are the Best Support Crew, congratulations for all you do for Erin. Toot Toot Team

The Month of October we CELEBRATE 10 Years of Multisport Gold! Mark in your diaries Sunday 3rd October 11.30am at the Gold Coast Motor Museum. Further details are on our Facebook page.
A very casual & relaxed lunch, lets spend the afternoon on the Terrace of this picturesque setting, and the fascinating Motor Museum.
This is not an awards afternoon, it is purely an opportunity for the Multisport Gold family to Celebrate together in a beautiful social setting. 

Here at Multisport Gold, we all love our Saturday morning parkruns! Whilst a few of us have our 'favourite' courses, there is so many options here on the Gold Coast for us to enjoy. So, on the 1st Saturday of each month, we will takeover a different parkrun course. They say Variety is the Spice of Life right !!!

So, join the Crew at Broadbeach Waters (Monaco Street)  parkun on the 2nd October. This is not only a really pretty run, but a fast one too. Its time to proudly put on your Multisport Gold colours and lets dominate this course! 

• Swim Squad at CAAC on Tuesday & Thursday. Please arrive by 5.20am as we will be starting at 5.30am sharp.
• Track Tuesdays will be back on the PRIMARY OVAL as of tuesday 5th October. Thankyou everyone for your patience while the oval under went matinenace & we had touse the Rugby Oval over the school holidays. Please arrive by 5.20pm to start the warm up at 5.30pm sharp.
• Hills Thursday at Adidas Park starting at 5.30pm for an easy warmup jog.  
• KOFFEE KMs Friday. Departing Highland  Reserve Roundabout at 5.15am and the M&L  Roundabout 5.20am. Destination is Paradise Point. 
• Saturday AM swimming is NOT ON this week due to our parkrun at Broadbeach Waters. 
• Sunday Long Rides are ON this week. Rolling out from Ox Lake at 5.30am sharp. We will have 2 groups, one for a more social ride, and other to go in search of elevations.
